As I was thinking about all of the things I had to do today, all the things I had to get done for the next few weeks, and the assignments I had to by this weekend, I was thinking, “Man, how am I going to get everything done??”   I was feeling like I was too busy to really get anything done… maybe I had bitten off more than I could chew…

As I was thinking, my mind started to wander to the holiday season coming up.  As I began to consider how busy the next 2 months will be, and thinking about the Thanksgiving holiday, I felt God was impressing upon my heart the verse, “Be still, and know that I am God” and “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Therefore, as an application to this conviction, and as an exercise to cultivate an posture of thanksgiving and a reminder of the daily grace of God, I will commit to write at least 1 thing I am thankful for, everyday.  I will write my 1 thing everyday until the end of November.  Even if I don’t post it, perhaps I will post a summary from the week.

Why the whole month of November?  I hope that beginning now will be a reminder that being thankful does not only happen around the week of Thanksgiving, but that thankfulness should be a daily occurrence.
