After 2 semesters of seminary, 9 months at New Life, 4 months of 3 kids and working, I just turned in my final 4 papers and was thinking about what my life has been like for the last several months. It’s been hectic to say the least. I just wanted to share some news and thoughts I’ve had about everything so far:
- I successfully transferred over into Moody’s fully online M.Div. program. I decided to go fully online because it’s more cost-efficient and time-efficient since I won’t have to commute down to campus. I was considering starting as a full-time student this fall, but after receiving some wise counsel (Thanks PJ, P. Joon, and Dr. Rim!) and some prayerful consideration, I realized that even if I survive, it would come at a tremendous personal cost. So this fall, I will continue working and stay a part-time student.

- Having a daughter is very different that having 2 sons. For a while, I felt nervous even changing her diaper! Jenny thinks that she already has me wrapped around her little finger, and says I am in trouble when she gets older….

- Work is work. Even though I’ve stopped advertising to reduce marketing expenses, God has still provided me work. Even though there are many weeks where I have no ‘day of rest’, I’m thankful that I have enough work to supplement our income and make ends meet.
- There is a completely new level of appreciation that I have for the leaders and pastors I’ve had in the past. If you have a pastor or leader, make sure you are praying for them!
- It’s always amazing to me how many loads of laundry 3 kids produce! It’s like their clothes multiply while in the washer.
- We began trying to teach M about $. We got him a Moonjar piggy bank to teach him to put his money into long-term savings, put a little spending money away, and tithe. He seems really excited about it! On a related note, Sam likes coins more than bills.
Hopefully, I’ll have more chances to update this summer. It’ll be busy, but I’m looking forward to it!
