This was one of the more hectic holiday seasons.

We had multiple fundraisers to support for overseas missions.  Over the course of 1 month, we (somehow) raised $1,500 through Christmas caroling, bake sales, and coffee/tea sales.  It wasn’t easy, but our youth group really pulled together.

We also had our youth group Winter Retreat.  The theme was “Selfie Selfless”, learning what it means to look beyond ourselves, beyond this idea of “out of sight, out of mind”.  It was a great retreat and even though we were exhausted, it was filled with blessings, .  We had some bumps in the road, but when all is said and done, I think it was the beginning of something new that God is doing in our church.

We had family gatherings at both my parents and Jenny’s parent’s houses, and we celebrated our baby’s 1st birthday last weekend.  It was a lot of work, but we had a great time.  Her party theme was hot air balloons, and Jenny made a whole bunch of cupcakes that looked like hot air balloons.  IMG_9097-001

Now that the craziness of the holidays are finally over, things are starting to normalize a bit, and school is starting again.

This semester, I’ve decided to take an another class, bringing me to full-time status.  It’s definitely a lot of work, but I’m glad to be on track to finishing school a little sooner.  It would be nice to have a little bit longer downtime, but time marches on.
